About

“A training in stained glass and etching at the École des Beaux-Arts de Québec probably had an influence on my actual choice of plexiglas as a support. The luminosity of stained glass windows lead me in a search for transparency in my paintings by glazing and overlapping of colors. Etching did also maybe unconsciously pushed me to abandon brushes and then spatula ending in applying paint by stamping and printing on plexiglas.

Since 1970, my research resulted in abstractions with contrasts of impasto and transparency evocating the blinding light of sunrise or sunset skies and the intense colors of the Laurentian forest in the fall.

Hard-edge accompanies elements of gestural abstract expressionism. My artistic work is an exploration of expressive possibilities of plexiglas and an attempt to express the beauty of the universe”.
